“We See You” – Just the Right Amount of Swagger
We are Claire and Jeremy Weiss, aka Day19. Thank you for considering us for the “We See You” Dallas campaign. We are excited about the opportunity to help bring this idea to life and capture the energy, confidence, and personality that define the Dallas visitor experience.
This campaign celebrates the subtle swagger visitors bring with them when they experience Dallas. Each film captures a different group of people fully leaning into a moment the city offers them, whether that’s pre-gaming before a hockey game, spending the day on a shopping spree, heading up to a rooftop lounge, or working their way through the Margarita Mile.
The tone is confident, playful, and observant. Dallas becomes the voice recognizing these moments and celebrating the energy visitors bring to the city.
In the realm of location-driven storytelling, our work focuses on capturing genuine moments of connection, excitement, and personality with careful attention to detail. Through a documentary-influenced approach, we aim to create visuals that feel authentic and alive while showcasing the environments that make a place special.
Each spot follows a small group moving through a specific Dallas experience. We focus on the details that make these moments feel real. The laughter around a steakhouse table, the excitement of finding the perfect pair of shoes, the anticipation of an elevator ride to a rooftop pool, or the satisfaction of raising a perfectly made margarita.
By staying close to the talent and immersing ourselves in the moment, we capture the natural chemistry between people and the energy of the spaces around them. The result is a series of energetic vignettes that feel social, authentic, and full of personality.
At the end of each story, the city acknowledges what we’ve just witnessed.
In Dallas, that’s just the right amount of swagger.
Claire & Jeremy’s Director’s reel.
All of the images and video references included in this pre-treatment come from our own body of work.
In early treatments it is common for directors to pull inspiration from other filmmakers or campaigns to communicate tone and style. While that can be helpful visually, it does not always reflect how a director actually works on set. For us, it was important that every reference shown here is something we have personally created.
These moments are not theoretical inspiration. They are examples of the kinds of performances, reactions, and visual energy we know how to capture because that’s how we work. The authenticity, spontaneity, and emotion that this Dallas campaign calls for are exactly the kinds of moments we focus on in our work.
Pulling inspiration is easy. Demonstrating that you already know how to achieve these kinds of images and performances is what gives us confidence in executing a project like this.
Double Vision: Harnessing the Strength of a Director Duo
Working as a director duo allows us to divide focus in a way that strengthens both performance and visual storytelling. One of us can focus entirely on the talent, shaping natural interactions and making sure every moment feels authentic. The other works closely with the DP to refine framing, camera movement, and lighting so the imagery lands exactly as intended.
This approach keeps performances present and relaxed while maintaining precision behind the camera. While ADs are always valuable collaborators, working this way allows us to keep the team lean and the vision unified. One of us can step into the role of the AD when needed, helping manage pacing and keep the day moving while maintaining the creative intent.
Because we are always aligned on the vision, we can also move quickly when something unexpected presents itself. If a new shot or spontaneous moment excites us, we can pivot without losing momentum. This flexibility often leads to the most memorable images and keeps the energy on set collaborative and focused.
The Stories
Pre-Gamers
A group of friends in Dallas Stars jerseys take over a high-end steakhouse before the game. The table fills with food, drinks, and the energy of game night anticipation. Rival fans get playful looks across the room as the night builds.
Later, the group joins the wave of fans heading toward the arena, the energy shifting from dinner to full pre-game excitement.
Dallas sees the ritual, the confidence, and the commitment to doing game night the right way.
Fashionistas
A group of friends moves through a full Dallas shopping weekend, from luxury boutiques to stylish cafés and champagne breaks between stores.
Shopping becomes a sport as bags pile up and excitement builds around every new find.
The city recognizes the dedication to the hunt and the joy of indulging in a little retail therapy.
Roof Toppers
Dressed for the occasion, a group of friends enters a sleek hotel elevator and presses the rooftop button with a knowing smile.
When the doors open, the world above Dallas reveals itself. Rooftop pools, skyline views, cocktails, and cabanas as the afternoon turns into evening.
The group settles into a poolside scene that feels effortlessly elevated.
Dallas sees the instinct to take the weekend just a little higher.
Margarita Milers
A lively group of friends moves through the vibrant atmosphere of the Margarita Mile. The bar is packed and buzzing.
Across the room, a member of the group signs their order to the bartender, the bartender signs back.
A round of margaritas arrives and the group celebrates the moment together.
Dallas sees the connection, the joy, and the perfectly salty rim.
A City That Sees You
Each film highlights a different slice of Dallas life, but together they form a larger portrait of the city. Dallas is energetic, stylish, social, and welcoming. It’s a place where visitors come to enjoy themselves and the city celebrates them for it.
Through these small but memorable moments, the campaign shows that swagger in Dallas isn’t loud or forced.
It’s simply the confidence to enjoy the moment.
And in Dallas, that’s just the right amount of swagger.
